Butterfly Thank You
Hi guys, I am excited to share this card with you today that I made for Honey Bee Stamps. I have called it Butterfly Thank you. It’s a good example of how a flash of colouring can really be effective when designing a simple card.
As you are probably aware, Kathy R is running her famous 30 day color challenge for the whole month of March. If, like me you can feel a little intimidated by coloring, how about starting off small like my card. Just putting color to a stamped image can build confidence especially with blending mediums like Copic markers.
This is what I did with this GORGEOUS butterfly stamp and die by Honey Bee Stamps. The set is called Thanks, and it is so versatile. The intricate detail of this butterfly is so pretty.
To make my card I started off using the Funky Florals stencil by MFT Stamps with some light grey ink. I thought a floral background would work best to give the illusion of butterflies flying over them. I then stamped and colored each butterfly using markers R20, R22, BV00, BV02, G24 and G40 I then positioned them to float above the flowers.
To finish, I stamped and die cut the Thank You sentiment, also from the HB stamp set and positioned at an angle to compliment the rest of the design.
I hope you will check out the colouring challenge as its not too late to start. Give some simple colouring a go with smaller images and feel the magic!
See you again soon at the Honey Bee blog.
